Whippoorwill Lodge

THE LODGE
With wood stoves, big stone fireplaces, and not one square inch of sheetrock, Beaver Pond’s Whippoorwill Lodge is perfect for a large group in the big room or a small one sitting around the tables and wood stove in the kitchen. In temperate weather, the breezeway between the kitchen and bunk house is the meeting place where stories some true…some not, are told and retold while the smell of roasting chickens, game birds, or pork shoulders wafts off the grill.
The Pro Shop at Beaver Pond has everything you might need but forgot, with clothing, accessories, rental guns and shells available. A small ceramic stove warms the room and the occasional sleeping setter and keeps things comfortable. Down the hall are the bedrooms and baths and at the end of the hall is a five bed bunkroom.
Across the breezeway, Whippoorwill Lodge’s Kitchen is small enough to be comfortable for a small group but large enough to service a big party. Just off the kitchen, the big room is filled with comfortable chairs and tables and leather couches. There’s a big screen TV for ball games, a huge fireplace and a convenient bar. Outside the big room is a large covered patio area with another large stone outside fireplace.
Franks Shed is the bird cleaning/refreshment center/storytelling area/tool shop at Beaver Pond. A wood stove, refrigerator, and some old recliners and chairs form a kind of rustic comfort that’s perfect for small group lies/historical recounts of the hunt. Many stories are told within these walls, a few are true, most are fiction.

There are three private bedrooms and a bunkroom for overnight guests.
