It’s high time to get ready for the coming shooting season

The birds are at Beaver Pond and the cover is growing well.

This year, Johnny is planting a later series of smaller fields to allow more feed for the birds and more open areas for hunters. The smaller nooks promise to deliver more action and make it easier to find birds.

This year the Dove Season North Carolina’s dove season opens statewide on Saturday, Sept. 3, at noon with a daily bag limit of 15 doves per hunter per day.Beaver Pond will celebrate the opening of the season with a hunt and cookout. Non Members can particapate for $65 including the cookout.

Sporting clays on the five stand will be available in the morning. For $100 hunters can do the opening dove and continue to dove hunt at Beaver Pond through the early season.Call get your friends together for the traditional Southern kickoff for the upland hunting season and call Beaver Pond to reserve your spot now.

After opening day, hunting opens a half hour before sunrise to sunset. Dove season is split into three segments this hunting season, with the first segment from Sept. 3 to Oct 8. The second segment is from Nov. 21 to Nov. 26, and the final segment from Dec. 17 to Jan. 13. Possession limit is set at 30 doves per hunter.
